Job Description: Office Manager

Based at: Oxford, UK

Salary: £24k per year

Hours: Full-time, part-time also considered

Key responsibilities:

  • HR management including contracts and recruitment
  • Management of the recruitment process for an expanding team
  • Development of office management systems to facilitate the efficient running of, and meeting all the financial and administrative needs of the business
  • Day-to-day running of the office, including administration, record keeping, filing and meeting minutes
  • Ad hoc support to two venture managers and two directors

Skills and Competencies

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and enthusiastic, able to work both independently and also as part of a team. They will thrive in the fast-paced, dynamic and often unpredictable start-up environment.

Essential experience:

  • Experience in office management and administration (at least 3 years)
  • Basic accounting and HR
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail, well-organised and proven track record of meeting deadlines
  • Commitment to environment and social issues, and desire to make a difference


  • Written presentations skills would be an advantage
